Developmental Program

 
The developmental program is designed for the child who is committed, serious and has a passion for playing soccer. The program provides training for both field players and goalies. The goal of the program will be to provide an educational environment for the child who wants to further their soccer experience. Please make every effort to attend ALL sessions of the program, as each session builds on the previous one. Along with learning techniques to become a better soccer player, players will also learn sportsmanship, discipline and respect for authority and will help prepare them physically and mentally for high level competition.
 
Currently, there is no registration needed to participate - just come at the time and location indicated.

About the Trainers
 
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
 
Lou Sventora:  Lou Sventora has been a strong supporter of the Elwood Soccer Club since our inception in 1994. He is the past President of the Sachem Youth Soccer League and Founder of the Suffolk Soccer Inter-league. Of all his accomplishments, the one thing that stands out the most is his love of training and the development of the youth soccer player. He is going to be a tremendous addition to our program and we are very excited to have him aboard.
 
TRAINERS
 
Allison Nelson:   All League, All County and All State player at John Glenn HS. Two time 1st team All Regional Player at Plattsburgh State University. Captain of both High School and College teams. Certified Trainer with L.I. Junior Soccer League. Presently playing for the Elwood Goaldiggers.
Position: Anywhere but prefers Sweeper
 
Jen Campisi:  All League, All County and All State player at Commack H.S. Collegiate player at Bryant University. Jen has unbeleavable training skills with children. She has been a major part of the Elwood Goaldiggers 5 Women Open Championships in the last 5 Years.
Position: Anywhere but prefers Defense. Opponents have a hard time scoring when Jen is in the backfield.
 
Trish Walsh:  All League, All County player at Ronkonkoma H.S. Played for Vassar College where she was defensive player of the year. Presently playing for the Elwood Goaldiggers, she has helped her team win 5 Womens Open Division 1 Championships.
Position: Anywhere but prefers Defense.
 
Alissa Karcz:  All League, All County player at Whitman H.S. Played for Oneonta State when they won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. Alissa has in the past coached and trained with the LIJSL Camps and presently with the Elwood soccer club.
Position: Anywhere but prefers midfield wing.
 
Marisa Glaser:  All League Goalkeeper at John Glenn H.S. Played for Albany State University. Marisa has trained under the guidance of Hoffstra Goalkeeper trainer Ed Schieferstein and former Lady Riders Goalkeeper Jodi Yeres. Marisa is presently the goalkeeper trainer at Elwood SC.
Position: Goalkeeper
